In this body of work, my choice of material is a form of protest. In response to women’s rights being eroded in the U.S., I’ve chosen tampons as my primary medium to reflect the world through a female lens, wrapping American and masculine iconography in feminine power using “feminine” products. The work becomes satire, creating an unexpected lightheartedness in how the medium transforms the message.
